‘Lovers’ Dance’ is a series of abstract acrylic paintings inspired by the love and tenderness that radiates from the mating dance we often see colourful and beautiful birds engage in during their courtship. The paintings are an attempt to capture the essence of this dance and the emotions it evokes. The colours and shapes in the paintings are the stages of the dance, from the first attraction to the final embrace. The use of bold colours and sweeping brushstrokes convey the passion and intensity of the dance, while the more delicate and intricate details are the subtleties of the lovers’ movements.

In creating these paintings, I drew parallels between the dance of the birds and the ‘dance’ of human lovers. Both are expressions of love and desire, and a sense of joy and abandon.
