Reflections

In this collection, I explore the beauty and fragility of life through the lens of discarded glass. I use broken pieces of glass that I found as a medium to capture the reflections, refractions, and colours of light. The photographs reveal the hidden stories, emotions, and connections of these found objects with their surroundings. I invite the viewer to look beyond the surface and appreciate the value and potential of what we often overlook or ignore.

Broken glass is a result of force, impact, or stress. It stands for something that was once whole and intact but is now shattered and fragmented. It can be seen as a symbol of damage, change, loss, or pain, as well as a symbol of transformation, resilience, creativity, and hope. Broken glass can be repaired, recycled, or repurposed into something new and different, and can be used as a medium for art, expression, and communication.

Broken glass can tell us the stories and emotions of people who were once connected to it. People who owned it, used it, broke it, or found it. People who have their own stories, hopes, dreams and fears. People who might feel broken themselves, or who might have overcome their challenges and healed their wounds. People who might have something to teach us, inspire us or connect with us.

By examining reflections through broken glass, I hope to inspire the viewer to see the world in a different light. To see the beauty and fragility of life in every object, every person, and every moment.
